Class Mapping for End-to-End Guaranteed Service with Minimum Price over DiffServ Networks

چکیده
SUMMARY Differentiated-services model has been prevailed as a scal-able solution to provide quality of service over the Internet. Many researches have been focused on per hop behavior or a single domain behavior to enhance quality of service. Thus, there are still difficulties in providing the end-to-end guaranteed service when the path between sender and receiver includes multiple domains. Furthermore differentiated-services model mainly considers quality of service for traffic aggregates due to the scalability, and the quality of service state may be time varying according to the network conditions in the case of relative service model, which make the problem more challenging to guarantee the end-to-end quality-of-service. In this paper, we study class mapping mechanisms along the path to provide the end-to-end guaranteed quality of service with the minimum networking price over multiple differentiated-services domains. The proposed mechanism includes an effective implementation of relative differentiated-services model, quality of service advertising mechanism and class selecting mechanisms. Finally, the experimental results are provided to show the performance of the proposed algorithm.

Quality-of-service mapping mechanism for packet video in differentiated services network
This research presents a futuristic framework for quality-of-service (QoS) mapping between practically categorized packet video and relative differentiated service (DiffServ or DS) network employing unified priority index and adaptive packet forwarding mechanism under a given pricing model (e.g., DiffServ level differentiated price/packet). Video categorization is based on the relative priority...

A dynamic quality of service (QoS) mapping control scheme, which includes feedforward and feedback QoS control, is proposed for the differentiated services (DiffServ) networks in this work. To achieve reliable and consistent end-to-end video streaming with relative service differentiation, the proposed solution consists of two parts: (1) relative priority-based indexing and categorization of st...

To guarantee the user-requested QoS and to keep the network utilization at maximum, the performance management of DiffServ-over-MPLS is essential. The performance management function monitors the network utilization and verifies the network performance compared with the agreed SLA (Service Level agreement). Constraint-based routing for guaranteed QoS provisioning must be used in the LSP establi...

متن کاملgTFRC, a TCP friendly QoS-aware rate control for DiffServ Assured Service
This study addresses the end-to-end congestion control support over the DiffServ Assured Forwarding (AF) class. The resulting Assured Service (AS) provides a minimum level of throughput guarantee. In this context, this article describes a new end-to-end mechanism for continuous transfer based on TCP-Friendly Rate Control (TFRC). The proposed approach modifies TFRC to take into account the QoS n...
